2017 sees a live action remake of one of the most well known Disney animations of all time - Beauty and The Beast, starring Emma Watson as Belle, and Dan Stevens as The Beast.
As if the film wasn't reason enough to get hyped, one of the most talked about beauty boxes right now, Latest in Beauty joined forces with Disney to concoct a stunning collaboration for fans - The Beauty and the Beast Box.
To celebrate the launch and success of the collab, the team at Latest in Beauty held a special event at The Lanesborough Hotel on Hyde Park Corner, London. Here's a little snapshot of my time spent at the event, captured with my very own Beasty himself, Lloyd (my Husband).
The 'Beauty and The Beast' box is a Latest in Beauty first, as it features a box for the Belles, and one for The Beasts. Ladies have their own box with pampering lady products to get excited over, whilst the guys have their own selection of products to enjoy, from beard oil to masculine face scrubs.
For this post, however, I'll be focusing on the box for the Belles!
The story of this box will naturally be shown in all its photographic glory below (probably some of the prettiest packaging shots I've ever had the pleasure of taking, if I'm honest!), however as a quick summary of the visuals: The box itself is utterly incredible. It comes styled as a fairy tale book, complete with page details where you might expect to find them. Typically Disney inspired, the text title of the box is beautifully detailed in gold.
Upon opening the box you're immediately greeted by the epic Beast and Belle ballroom scene as your guide to what you can find in your selection of goodies.
Here's a quick list to take you through:
BURT'S BEES LIPSTICK IN BLUSH BASIN OR SUNSET CRUISE
L'OCCITANE ROSES ET REINES HAND & NAIL CREAM
SOIGNÉ BETTERAVES ROUGES NAIL POLISH
GATINEAU RADIANCE ENHANCING GOMMAGE
CAUDALIE VINOSOURCE MOISTURIZING SORBET
ORIBE GOLD LUST DRY SHAMPOO
LATEST IN BEAUTY GOLD COMPACT MIRROR
The RRP of this selection is said to be worth over £80, but is on sale for this collaboration at just £20 per box (the men's one is worth over£100!).
What I'm most excited about.
Such a lovely selection for sure, and a really well put together "nod" to the film itself. I love the theme of the rose (obviously) strewn throughout the box in both the products and interior accent styling with the petals. Gold features a lot (my favourite) also, which again is a prime accent taken from the film too, with the opulent castle settings, and of course Belle's famous ball gown.
What I really love about Latest in Beauty boxes is that not only do you have the monthly freedom to pick your own contents to go into your subscription so that you're ultimately not disappointed when you receive a guess-timated black eyeliner to go on your ash blonde brows, but the products in the pre-made selection boxes are all so complimentary of each other, and are universal for all you might be interested in buying one! This box is no different.
There are a few key items in this one however (however much I can say that I love them all) which have ultimately provoked a squee from me.
BURT'S BEES LIPSTICK IN BLUSH BASIN
I've had a Burt's Bees lip balm crayon for some time, and was totally surprised by how pigmented and long lasting it was! I actually had no idea that there was a lipstick line too, and this colour is absolutely right up my street.
The formula is typically butter smooth, like Burt is renowned for (should probably say "honesy smooth", huh? huhhh?), but the colour pay off is something else! I'll post a look with it over on my instagram if you fancy a look at how I like to wear it.
Another awesome thing about BB's products is their longevity. The lipsticks last as long as the balms, I'm happy to say, and don't crack or dry one bit.
ORIBE GOLD LUST DRY SHAMPOO AND SOIGNÉ BETTERAVES ROUGES NAIL POLISH
I'm the biggest fan of black and gold, but goodness me I'm a red and gold lover too now, I'll tell you that! So dry shampoo is a blessing in my life. I have a lot of hair, regardless of how short it is now, and it's not always convenient to throw my head in the shower to quickly sort it out if it's going a bit limp of drab.
More often than not there will be a huge tin of dry shampoo on my dresser (it IS a girl's best friend, I'm SURE of it), and it'll usually just be a generic (but awesome, of course) pick of Batiste or something like that. No more. Absolutely NO MORE!
What could possible be more fabulous than a dry shampoo which not only has the luxe appeal of a gilded panther, but it's main ingredients are Watermelon, Lychee and Edelweiss Flower Extracts! The smell! You have no idea until you've had a go with this at just how divine your locks are going to whiff.
In addition there's even more delicious ingredients inside like lavender and chamomile for locking in moisture and soothing your scalp, as well as bamboo & rice silks for instant smooth and silkiness.
An extremely high end piece of dry shampoo luxury worthy of any grab and go situation.
From hair to hands, and a nail polish I had actually never tried before either until the event! You'll notice from my video that there were ladies from Soigne there offering complimentary manicures to guests. Naturally I couldn't refuse, and happily got to try the formula "first hand" (harr) before opening the box on getting home (you can check out my finished mani over on my instagram HERE).
Four days on and the polish is still as 'bullet proof' as the day it was done, and shows no sign of cracking or chips. By far one of the best polishes I've tried yet. Although my current Soigne mani is in the shade "Truffle", this true red colour in the box is a classic, and I'll be reaching for it as soon as I need a change over.
If you're familiar with Latest in Beauty collections, you'll know that not only do you get your regular skincare, hair care, make up treats, but you also tend to get an accessory (or even sometimes fashion!) in the box for your too!
In this installment we're gifted a very pretty gold toned compact mirror with a rose detail to the top.
The compact is magnetically sealed and slim enough to fit into any pocket of your clothing or bag with ease. It's got a really nice tactile feel to the shape of it too, and for any fidgets like me with these kinds of things, it's quite satisfying to just hold and admire - haha!
The mirror is also a classic double sided affair, with both a regular reflection and a...I wanna say "zoomed in" side, but that feels wrong. You know what I mean, right?*
*MAGNIFIED! A Magnified side!!!
So there we have it! Congratulations to the wonderful 'Latest in Beauty' team on their collaboration with Disney and their latest release of Beauty and The Beast. It was a pleasure to celebrate your latest collector's installment of one of your magnificent boxes. Here's to many more along the way!
As I mentioned before, you can pick up your Latest in Beauty 'Beauty and The Beast' special edition box for a one off price of £20 for both ladies and gentlemen alike.
Don't forget to browse the rest of what LIB have to offer over on their site, and let me know what you think of either the film itself if you've seen it, the box if you've got it, or both!
Have a magical day!
