In the last few weeks, one of my favourite luxury body care brands 'Molton Brown' held a launch event in Cambridge for their new shower and body fragrance products infused with one of their already established and much loved candle scents - Russian Leather.
For months, Lloyd and I have stopped by the shop to pop our noses into their incredible candle scents, and well before the launch of additional products in Russian Leather, I was always drawn to the candle version.
If you know me well by now, you'll be aware of my instant attraction to woody, semi-masculine, musky scents, so you don't really need to ask how excited I was to hear that this particular fragrance was expanding in the shop.
'Woody' scents are particularly divine for me during the darker, wintery months, so this is perfectly timed too, right? Scents like this just make me thing of warm blankets, firesides, cuddles, cocoa, creamy coffee, and comfort food, wrapped in ultra sophistication. I can't get enough. In the warmer months, I still like to keep the musk with a base of 'Oud', but introducing some floral too, to lift.
So naturally when I found out that there was an actual launch event happening at my local store, with complimentary hand massages with the new range, bubbles, and nibbles, Lloyd and I were definitely saying "yes" to the guest list!
On arrival, Lloyd and I were greeted by the wonderful Molton Brown staff and offered some sparkling Elderflower or Prosecco (I had to mix...I had to).
Before the pampering began, we were left to browse the new products on display, before taking a seat to have one of my most favourite treatments here - a luxury hand and arm massage.
I had the choice of wash, scrub, moisuriser, and EDT spritz, so naturally I went for the following:
During any massage, the consultant takes you through which scents in which ranges compliment each other best, as there truly are certain scents which "stack" best on top of each other. Mine were all based around that "Warm, woody, peppery musk", and worked so harmoniously that I honestly couldn't cope with how incredible it was.
True to Molton Brown products, the scent combinations lingered solidly for the rest of the day, and I was left with the softest, most relaxed arms and hands ever. I'm definitely not new to these things, and there's a very positive reason for that!
I was new this time around to the 'Fiery Pink Pepper Pampering Body Polisher [BUY]' during my hand and arm treatment, and my gosh, I'm in love.
I kept exclaiming that I've never actually experienced a scrub before which is both creamy, but exfoliating! Normally exfoliators, to me, feel coarse and scratchy to get the end result of super smooth skin, however this one goes on as a really fluffy cream, and gently transitions to the scrub within. I don't know how it does it so well!
Overview: A body scrub with spicy-sweet aromas and exfoliating bamboo that polishes your skin, refining and smoothing its texture for a sumptuously soft feel and sleek glow.

A really cute and novel addition to the massage, special for this event, were the application of Russian Leather scented tattoos!
You could pick as many as you like, and they were popped on as a decadent but fun reminder of how gorgeous the scent is for the rest of the day.
I knew that they were quite highly scented as my consultant had one on her hand, and it was enhancing the hole experience tenfold, however I never expected my own to be as potent as they were!
All the way home, the whole car was full of fragrance. I was so sad to actually wash my hands before bed haha! As gross as that sounds. Sad to see them gone!
I loved the artwork too. Really lovely illustrations.
My local store is Molton Brown Cambridge, and as I say, If i'm not in there at least once these days on my weekend trips into town, then there's usually something wrong with me.
I've picked up quite a few new things over the last weeks, so do keep an eye on my posts for updates on my favourite, seasonal scents. I also have a haul to write up (it's a bit too indulgent to include in this post alone...I went a bit crazy and you'd be reading for days If I continues with it here), so I'm excited to share that soon.
I honestly highly recommend taking a treat filled trip to your nearest Molton Brown store for a fragrance match. The staff are always so ready to assist you in finding the perfect scent for you, be it for the home or body.
