Autumn and winter are continuously the seasons whereby my skin needs the most love and attention, and in all honestly, I’m pretty sure a huge percentage of people would agree with me too.
The change in temperature brings forth dryness and irritation to my delicate face more than ever as the cold hits, so whilst it’s still not quite snowing all over it, autumn is the perfect time for me to switch to skin defence mode before it’s too late.
Last week we looked at the new REN skincare “selection box” this season for sensitive skin – the perfect “shots” of clarity for me if I get taken by surprise with blemishes and lack lustre. This week I have the luxury of Gatineau to go through with you all, showcasing one of their most anticipated gift selections I’ve seen (in my opinion anyway).
A friend of mine has always raved about Gatineau products, and although I am relatively new to the brand, despite it being decades old, I’ve been persuaded to get involved more with their range after a rave and personal review of their ‘Perfection Ultime Retexturizing Beauty Cream’ from said colleague.
So, I've picked myself up what I believe to be one of the most incredible offers on the site at the moment, in terms of their Christmas launch of goodies anyway: The Perfection Ultime Smoothing Collection (£75. RRP £193!) [LINK FOR MORE].
Inside this gorgeous and exceptionally generous wash bag/skincare hoarding vessel sits three incredible products which work in exceptional harmony with one another.
All three are potent in their aims and goals, yet gentle and refined enough for delicate skin types.
Perfection Ultime Retexturizing Beauty Cream with Application Spatula 50ml (RRP £86) [LINK]
"This lightweight daily moisturiser instantly hydrates and brightens the skin with Hyaluronic Acid and Cotton Extract, while protein-rich Caviar Extract and Tripeptide 1 work to restore skin health and luminosity. Geranium Oil protects from free-radicals and the complexion is smoothed and perfected with Wheat and Soy Proteins.
All ages - lack of radiance, dehydration, and uneven skin tone."
Collagene Expert Ultimate Smoothing Serum 30ml (RRP £64) [LINK]
"This intensive concentrate uses a marine based Tri-Collagen Complex to work at different levels of the skin for an intensely hydrating, plumping and regenerative action on wrinkles. With added Mélatogénine™, our exclusive youth molecule, this targeted serum will treat the early signs of ageing leaving the skin feeling smooth, plumped and radiant."
Peeling Expert Pro-radiance Anti-aging Gommage 75ml (RRP £40) [LINK]
"This high-performance exfoliator is enriched with Bamboo Microgranules to effectively remove dead skin cells whilst refining the skin’s surface. Its non-irritating formula, blended with Vitamins E and F, is designed to encourage cellular renewal, smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles and leave the skin radiant and luminous."
So these products are recommended for day and nightly use, however for me I feel the benefit of them much more when treating myself with them as night boosters.
I always gently massage the serum onto my pre-bed cleansed skin first, leave to settle for around 10 minutes, before applying a generous application of the divine Ultime Cream before sleep.
Not only do these two products melt effortlessly into the skin, and feel incredibly rich and luxurious on application, they leave behind a satin feel like never before, without excess.
On waking up in the morning my face is soft, radiantly smooth, without a single hint of greasiness or residue. They’re an incredible pairing.
This skin base then paves the way for a gentle cleansing wash before my usual primer and make up routine begins.
Such an interesting product! I’ve only yet to use this a handful of times, but feel myself only reaching for it when I absolutely need a clarifying boost from a week of air conditioning and daily full face make up wear. So far, as with the other products, my skin is left smoothed (the promise is kept!), with more of a focus on a purified feeling, without It feeling “stripped.
All products in the range have a beautiful, calming, floral to herbal scent, which again makes them such a huge hit as night treatments for me.
At a combined price of £75 for this full sized product selection, I honestly recommend them so highly.
There are so very, very many more selection “bags” in their Christmas launch of gifts too [LINK FOR MORE], which you can browse here [LINK]. One of the largest selections on offer, in terms of premium skincare that I’ve seen yet, actually.
