Does anyone else find that these rapidly depleting winter days make it that little bit harder to sleep at night? I don't know why, but suddenly I'm really struggling to drift off nice an early.
It's probably more down to the fact that I've been busier than ever this winter, and my brain is just simply struggling to switch off, however a recent PR package popped through the post from skincare friends at REN, which made me feel like they were somehow reading my mind...
This cute little collection comes in the form of a quirky little care package, designed to help you wind down before lulling you off to the land of nod with ease and comfort.
So what's inside?
& Now To Sleep Pillow Spray
REN’s unique blend of essential oils to help with natural sleep balance. A soothing natural Perfume, blending floral notes of lavender with deeply restful Frankincense, to relax both the body and mind.
To Use: Spray onto pillow before going to bed
My Thoughts: Night time scents are always such a luxury for me. Typically anything calming like lavendar is never an overrated blessing, but the addition of Frankincense here really brings this little guy up a level. I love "musky" notes. I don't know what it is, but they make me think of warmth and firesides. All the "comfort feels". Laying my head to rest whilst this flutters up my nose is such a HUG!! Really soothing, and such a wonderful idea.
It will go without saying that sleep sprays aren't meant to transfer onto your face, however just for anyone wondering, this one does not 🙂
Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial 10ml
A transforming treatment that works overnight to leave skin visibly brighter, more luminous, refined and even toned in the morning. A unique complex of actives delivers a 3-phase treatment while you sleep that gently renews the skin, boosts skin cell vitality and infuses skin with plumping moisture.
Results: Skin looks renewed and radiant, skin tone is more even and refined.
To Use: At night, prior to your moisturiser apply 2-3 pumps onto clean skin over the face, neck and décolleté avoiding the eye area. Slight tingling may be experienced during application.
My Thoughts: I've never used an overnight treatment before, you know. I've always been a little scared to, if I'm honest! I used to get a little worried that one might feel a bit "messy", you know? However this little product is a wonder, and instead of being some kind of thick mask treatment, it's one to accompany with your favourite night time moisturiser. After several nights of wear, I can confirm that I do feel as though I have woken up with "bouncier" skin, and I can also confirm that I have yet to experience any breakouts (I'm VERY prone to spots if I overdo it on night time products. I have no idea why).
V-Cense™ Revitalising Night Cream 15ml
Formulated to recharge, revitalise and intensively hydrate the skin overnight, this multi action cream visibly smoothes fine lines, evens skin tone and offers antioxidant protection to help combat the signs of premature ageing.
Results: Skin feels softer, firmer, smoother. Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Hydrates and replenishes.
To Use: Massage gently into face and neck until absorbed.
My Thoughts: Goes hand in hand with the V-Cense treatment above, and one which I am happy to alternate with my favourite regular moisturiser without any hassle. The formula absorbs well, and my skin is left with reduced redness in the morning after use, I'm sure of it. Just a nice, reliable night cream without any fuss or side effects on my skin personally!
Sleepy eyes Make Up Bag
Such an adorable white make up bag with eye details on both sides, comes free with every bundle!
My Thoughts: Well it's cute as a button, isn't it? The only thing I'm worried about is how dirty it's going to end up, haha! That's more of an issue on my part, of course. It's meant for more of a skincare bag, for sure, and not one I would think to put my lipsticks and messy foundation in. That snow white fabric wouldn't be very shiny for long, that's for sure!
So what do you think? Do you have a "sleep routine"? I know there's a lot of focus on general skincare processes from makeup removal, cleansing, and toning, however there IS a next step you can take yourself to to get that extra deep treat for your dermis. Do you use anything "beauty wise" to help you sleep? Any night time skincare treats to share? Let me know!
