After a month (maybe more) of realising that my makeup bag shows no sign of changing any time soon, I thought it a good idea to share what my "must haves" are right now in the face art department!
This collection of goodness has done my skin wonders since using them, and as you may be aware already from my endless chatter on Instagram stories, they've worked harmoniously with my acne treatment and maintenance!
I've already gone into pretty hefty detail over here , but yes, I can confirm that I am still very much in love with and thankful for discovering this foundation. The formula has great coverage, blends beautifully, and the colour 'Nude' could not be closer to my natural skin tone. The formula has also been exceptionally gentle on my acne prone skin, and and has caused no additional problems whatsoever. I honestly won't be in any hurry to look further for a different foundation once this is all gone, however do continue to keep me up to date with any new discoveries in foundation for sensitive skin across the months.
After the success of the B.B foundation on my skin, I figured that the concealer would treat me well too. The 'Creamy Concealer' is the most heavy duty in the Bobbi Brown range of concealers and has been working very well for me. I use the shade "sand", and apply to red areas and any pimples that might be around on the day.
The formula is high coverage, and lives up to its creamy name. I hardly need any to smooth out my skin tone, even on a bad day. If you need something to compare this too, I would say it's very similar to Benefit's erase paste, but with less of an oil finish.
To set everything down and keep me even, I lightly dust this guy over my cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin. It really helps to hold my makeup in place all day (literally have no issues with shine or fade after 8-9 hours out of the house, and to continue the theme of sounding like a broken record, I've not had any acne irritation from this product since starting use.
I'm quite sad to see I've hit pan but I've been using it every day for around a month, so I guess I can't complain. There's still a lot more to go anyway.
I will say though, don't go too mad with this as regardless of there being "sheer" in the name, if you go a little overboard you can look a little too flat. Just take it easy, it works wonders in small amounts.
Since the day one launch of Fenty Beauty back in October 2017, this little guy has served me so well as my daily contour swipe. There's literally no denting this thing! If you pick up a Skinstick and untwist it all the way, you'll be a little perplexed at the amount of product you find available. I was convinced it would last me only a month, if that. Seriously, the shade on me is perfect for that chiseled shading under the cheekbones, and blends out beautifully with a flat top contour brush.
A definite repurchase if I don't fancy branching out somewhere new. Thankfully I can seem to get a little more freedom with contour products, as long as they're not too powdery. Got any favourites to recommend?
A simple, fuss free, pink and natural toned blush that I picked up from Bobbi Brown at the same time as grabbing myself the face powder. Honestly, I was just in need of a pink toned blush at the time, and here we are. It's very well pigmented, very blendible, and my favourite way of applying is using a fan brush. I think a heavier brush may cause you some issues with "clown cheeks", as this guy really can pack a punch if you're not careful.
When this runs out, I'll probably not run straight back to repurchase. It's a wonderful blush which I can absolutely recommend if you want a premium product for your cheek colour, however I do love to experiment with my blushers. For spring I like to go orange and coral tones, so watch this space.
I wasn't sure whether I'd find a lipstick which I could call "Me" since discovering Nars 'Roman Holiday' back in Uni, however a spontaneous purchase of this little guy in Kings Cross's own Urban Decay standalone store, I've screamed "Hoorah!". The sheer formula is buttery smooth, causes no hint of dryness, and actually isn't as sheer as you might think! This shade is a pink toned nude, very natural, but diffuses out redness from your lips if you're quite heavily pigmented like me.
I'm almost out, and will definitely be repurchasing this shade, along with another in the sheer range, I think, if they're all as good on the lip as this one is!
A perfect handbag casual colour, foolproof to apply, and settles flawlessly throughout the day with no worries.
As Rose from Titanic once reminded us, "It's been 84 years" since I switched out my Guerlain eyeliner for anything different. I refuse to believe that there's another to rival it, and until anyone proves to me otherwise, I will repurchase this for the rest of my life.
Not only does this little pot last around a year PLUS (no joke) with daily application, the formula stays as true as the day you first open it, the brush stays as accurate and immaculate as the day it was made, and with one beautifully effortless swipe you have perfectly lined eyes, even if you're a rookie.
I cannot sing praise more louder for this liner.
Another "I won't stop til you prove me wrong" product. I'm on my third tube, and I'm going to be a tough nut to crack if you're considering changing my mind about this being the best mascara in the world.
Let's face it, I think mascaras are by far the most confusing beauty products to buy out there. There are so very, very many of them, all saying they do similar and different things, all with crazy packaging, and all with different promises. With MJ, my lashes take but one coat and they're "West End Ready". The curl holds all day, the formula separates lashes perfectly, and almost gives a powdery yet defined hue to your eyes for a really effortlessly glam look, even on your day off from being spectacular. Love it.
Those are my current best of products for an every day face! If you have sensitive skin, or even if you don't, these special friends will never let you down in my opinion.
