It’s traditional for us to head away for bank holidays when we can, and Easter bank holiday is never an exception unless something seriously serious happens, haha.
Even if it’s 3 nights, a single night, or even a day visiting friends, family, or just exploring somewhere new, a bank holiday is always a highlight when it spins around during the year.
As you may know I have quite an elaborate and very specific set of rules when it comes to my skincare routine, and quite often the thought of hauling all of my lotions and potions around with me when I travel strikes sweat upon my brow at the best of times.
I’ve found it very hard to simply be able to pop into the travel size section of high street stores and pick out any cleansers to do the job they do whilst being conveniently sized, as my skin almost certainly won’t ever enjoy them.
The two products which I am wholly thankful for however, and yes there is something out there for me, are these little beauties by Clarins.
Clarins has always been a premium counter brand which I can 100% rely on with skincare, not to cause a problem with my acne flare ups and combination skin craziness. You know I adore my Origins routines, and my Chloe Loves Organics saviours, but I’m so glad that I can throw Clarins into the mix when I need reliable convenience with comfort in mind too.
Clarins Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover. Reformulated Eye Make-Up Removers. A fresh, soothing lotion that gently and thoroughly removes all regular eye make-up. Ophthalmologist-tested to be gentle enough for the most sensitive eyes, including contact lens wearers.
I always, always, always use an eye makeup remover as well as a first and second whole face cleanse. Always. I actually shudder at the thought of using my full face cleanse step to include my eye makeup in the same motion. I’d be in such a mess.
I’m going to sound so picky now to say even more things that I MUST have, but my eye makeup remover must only take a single cotton pads worth of product per eye to then take me on to my facial cleanse. This Clarins Gentle Eye Makeup Remover ensures that. In addition I get absolutely no irritation, and my delicate eye area is left refreshed and soft. Everything I ask for!
All the pleasure and freshness of cleansing with water... without water! In one easy step, this cleanser promotes a feeling of water rinsed cleansing. It gently removes light makeup and impurities without any lather. Obtained through distillation, this precious, potent `water` contains Moringa Seed extract as well as the softening and soothing peach extract. Skin is left clean and stays smooth, supple and velvety soft.
I have forever been too nervous to stray away from my usual and trusted cleansers, because cleansers are so important to get right for my skin type. If the formula is too harsh then my acne will make an appearance tenfold, and take an immensely long time to go away. Just one mistake can cause weeks of skin sadness.
Thankfully the Clarins Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser (with peach essential water) actually loves me, and I can pop this in a spritz bottle for my bags at any time for the perfect makeup remover and first step cleanse on the go! I love how it smells so peachy fresh too. It’s not in any way sickly sweet, just gorgeously subtle like the peach bottled water you can drink, you know? Except please don’t drink this of course.
I can happily remove my full face of makeup with two cotton pads of this guy. It’s fab.
If you wanted to try out my faves here, Clarins are actually currently running a Super Beauty Gift event at House Of Fraser where you can choose four recommended Clarins products worth £54 when you buy two or more Clarins products (one to be skincare).
The Gentle Eye Makeup Remover and Water Comfort One Step Cleanser are both available in the freebie list, so now could be your chance to try them out! Mind you, I recommend them as full size any day, so it’s entirely up to you.
The full range of Clarins skincare goodness can be found here for your perusal.
