Tell me, do you or anyone else you know switch up your perfumes to reflect the current season?
To me, scents are practically a fashion. Each season has a “certain smell” to me, and I like to celebrate that indulgence with my own changing scent as the year progresses.
In winter I reach for the warm, rich musks with notes of wood and fiery cinnamon, moving on to the waking spring with a touch more floral and citrus. Summer then leads me to sun bursting oud with a little sweetness in the mix, as well as some earthy sand undertones. Divine.
It’s March now, as we all know, so it’s time to start thinking about that spring time scent to reach for and carry us through the new blooms and blossoms. My discovery?
Tory Burch Bel Azur.
Tory Burch Bel Azur transports you to the Cote D`Azur, a legendary paradise on the French Riviera. Inspired by Tory`s love of the sea, this refreshing fragrance exudes the golden sun shimmering on clear blue waters. Bel Azur captures three of my greatest inspirations - Travel, The Sea and the colour Blue - Tory Burch A solar burst of bergamot washes over breezy florals of neroli and peony to rejuvenate the senses, while creamy cedarwood and earth vetiver melt into a lingering sunkissed warmth. The perfect escape - encased in a beautiful glass bottle in a wave of blue ombre.
I mean can we just start with the bottle first please? I know the description mentions it last but come on!
The beautiful thick, almost ice like ombre glass feels so chunky and luxurious in the hand. It’s a literal pleasure to spritz it, and makes you feel like a spring queen, I swear. I love the packaging too with the fresh white box and geometric pressed print design to cover.
The scent itself? Continental adventures, warm sun, and a splash of sea spray on the air springs to mind. It truly is an “escape” fragrance where you think of travel and hours spent sitting outside a boutique café with the sun on your neck. The actual sales pitch itself genuinely hits the mark entirely!
I love how the florals of spring are truly there with this one, starting out with the bergamot and peony, but then simmering down for some sunset cederwood to settle. Fabulous.
Bel Azur is 100% here to make new season memories this spring, so let’s enjoy. What’s your “scent of spring” if you could choose?
