I am all about "specialist skincare sessions" right now.
I have my regular daily make up removal, cleanse and finish routine [READ MORE], as well as my newly established night routine [READ MORE], and now I have yet another twice weekly treat to show love to my ever improving complexion which is proving to work absolute wonders.
This has once again come about from my consultation with Dr Chloe of Chloe Loves Organics some weeks ago, after learning more about the science behind skin "behavior".
Chloe explained that if you struggle with combination breakouts, it's always very good to be mindful that to keep skin free of hard to tackle bacteria, skin cells require "turning over" with more targeting and richer product use.
Products can range from natural scrubs several times a week, and balm treatment cleansers (you know, the hot cloth kinds?) which really penetrate the cells and get to work both cleansing and nourishing.
Chloe recommended the "Cleansing Edition" as my treatment cleanser of choice for my special Deep Cleanse step each week (I like to do this twice a week, and my skin has honestly started loving me for it).
"Deep cleansing, nourishing balm, removes all traces of dirt / make up, eases feelings of anxiety to leave skin and mind soothed."
"Melting on contact with skin this luxurious, nourishing, anti ageing cleansing balm evocative of a Spa removes all impurities and makeup without leaving the skin stripped.
The multi nutritive ingredients nourish, balance and protect the skin depending on needs making it suitable for all skin types and reduces the need for toner.
Designed to be used at night with key well being active botanicals to ease feelings of anxiety, stress and induce bliss."
STEPS I TAKE:
"Heat will open pores and allow balm to penetrate."
Once done, I then gently circle the cloth around my face to remove the balm, and ensure that I'm looking squeaky clean and clear after. If I feel I'm not, then I'll repeat the process.
I then "rinse" my face by running cool water, cupping some in my hands, and almost "patting" the water to my face and forehead. This contracts the skin and helps "trap" in the goodness.
KEY INGREDIENTS: Sunflower seed oil, Safflower seed oil, Cera alba wax, Jojoba fruit oil, Rosehip fruit oil, Orange peel oil, Lavender flower oil, Palmarosa oil, Patchouli oil.
If I'm doing a deep cleanse at night, then I will always follow with the Chloe Loves Organics Night Edition from my night routine post, however if my deep cleanse falls to a morning for whatever reason, I will ALWAYS follow up with Chloe's Day Edition moisturiser.
"A decadent, lightweight day cream deeply absorbed to leave skin plump, dewy and radiant. Containing aromatic compounds to uplift mind, lessen fatigue and restore equilibrium."
"Made with a blend of 100% organically derived active botanicals to hydrate, nourish and protect the skin whilst also improving emotional health.
Easily absorbed with no oily residue , yet skin feels smooth making it ideal for mornings and works well as a primer under makeup.
Suitable for all skin types due to the balancing properties.
Contains powerful wellbeing ingredients to make you feel ready to tackle the day."
The Day Edition is as beautifully rich and powerful as the night edition, but with a lightweight feel ideal for makeup application to follow.
I'm really not a fan of thick moisturisers before makeup, and more often than not the thicker formulas make my foundation slip much faster throughout the day with my restlessly oily skin.
I love how this moisturiser gives me all of the softness and goodness I need to really treat my skin even further after my deep cleanse, but it's completely "day wear friendly" in composition.
KEY INGREDIENTS: Aqua, Sunflower seed oil, Coconut fruit oil, Sweet Almond kernel oil, Jojoba fruit oil, cocoa butter, geranium flower water, Geranium leaf oil, Clary Sage oil, Bay leaf oil, Neroli flower oil.
Some of you may think that I may be a little "picky" when it comes to the structure of my skincare routines, but honestly, I just want to take care of one of the most sensitive and potentially pesky parts of my body.
Acne after acne, redness after redness, oil and dryness, I literally have it all - all at different times of the year and even month! It's just the way I've been "made", but with so much learning and figuring out how to love my skin for what it is, and help it through it's troubled times, I've come such a long way!
These methods of care really have worked a million wonders for me, and I can't thank people like Chloe of Chloe Loves Organics for enlightening me, and helping me on my journey toward healthy, manageable skin.
