The days right now are some of the hottest of the year so far, and I can’t ever complain.
Weekends in London bubble over with hype and happiness for the warmth and sunshine cast upon the streets, and we’re all seeking those ice lattes, summer clothes, and glowing skin.
When you get to spend the day with your perfect bud, that’s excellent enough on its own (check out Holly though. You need to www.thekittyluxe.com ), but throw both of us into the mix with one of the most glorious natural skincare brands out there, and you have a mixture for glimmering perfection.
Discover the brand (ant-ih-po-deez):

If you’re a regular reader or follower of mine, you know that natural skincare choices have changed my life. From a sufferer of aggressive adult acne, to a calmer, happier face in around a year total of discovering what pure ingredients can do for my skin, I can’t express how much afternoon tea with this gorgeous brand meant to me. Seriously.
From the very moment we were greeted by the incredible branded black cabs, to our arrival therein at The Rosewood, London, you could just tell how much passion surrounded the Antipodes name. Awaiting us outside in the courtyard stood the divine Elizabeth Barbalich, founder of Antipodes herself, who greeted us with such pride and delight in sharing her team’s work.
As we were seated in the Mirror Room of The Rosewood, we were all set to play with new and old favourites in the Antipodes ranges, while we listened to the history behind Elizabeth’s inspiring journey behind crafting the brand, its ethos, and successes past and present. This lady literally never stops developing the dream, and it truly shows.
Elizabeth shared her own family involvement in developing the brand, as well as her incredible travel habits, love of nature, and enthusiasm for content creation alike. Over a phenomenal afternoon tea of art inspired sweets and delicious vegetarian sandwiches, we spoke of our own skincare journeys, our dreams of New Zealand adventures (I mean, who wouldn’t?!), and the work involved surrounding self-development. The warmth and hospitality of all involved in Antipodes, and of course The Rosewood dining experience itself was just mind blowing, and not one I will let go of any time soon.
One of the primary talking points of the afternoon had to be HALO - the skin brightening mud mask, new to the Antipodes family.
Use the Antipodes Halo Skin Brightening Mud Mask to paint your face, deeply delivering skin-brightening extracts for instant light and lift. Improve your skin’s appearance with three key natural skincare ingredients.
Antioxidant compound Vinanza® Grape & Kiwi is clinically shown to lighten skin by targeting melanin production*, Peony addresses uneven tone and mineral-blessed volcanic mud from geothermal New Zealand is revered for its regenerative brilliance.
Suitable for most skin types, especially congested, dull and combination.
This could not have sounded more perfect for me, for sure. In past posts and Instagram chats I’ve expressed how I’ve always suffered from redness and uneven skin tone, along with my stubborn spots along the way.
Halo specifically targets redness and pigmentation with its ingredients, as well as soothing and calming elements to encourage renewed radiance. Here’s the official ingredients breakdown:
Vinanza Grape & Kiwi: Helps improve the appearance of skin by targeting redness and pigmentation
Peony flower:Prized by the Chinese for centuries for their calming and soothing properties.
Volcanic New Zealand Mud: New Zealand’s thermal mud is packed full of minerals including sulphur, calcium, sodium and silicon and has been revered for its skin-enhancing properties throughout the ages.
On contact, the clay mask formula immediately cools and “hugs” the face, with the delicate natural scent filling your nose to bring you the ultimate sigh of contentment possible. I can actually relate it to the feeling you get from a hot cloth routine, but in mask form, and from a cooling direction.
After just one sitting with this mask, I will not in any way over exaggerate this, but my face looked like my teen years again, without a single noticeable glare of redness or irritation. I was genuinely gasping.
I followed up after the mask by spritzing my favourite Antipodes toner – The Resurrect Clarifying Facial Toner – to give me the maximum goodness.
There’s not much more you can possibly do for us, Antipodes! From your incredibly openness with bran passions and ethos, to the quality and direction of your exceptional products, I’m a firm fan for life.
