Of course I’m back with another afternoon tea post. You didn’t think I’d stop at just the one, did you? Certainly not. I have the absolute yearning to hunt down every luxury afternoon tea available in England, and so help me, I SHALL TASTE THEM ALL!
"At Stapleford Park, we strive to blend centuries of history with luxurious, modern-day country house living.
Inside, the hand embroidered silk wallpaper of the reception area juxtaposed with the upturned wellies awaiting their next outing, locally sourced produce served beneath gleaming chandeliers, a state of the art gym in a stunning Victorian setting."
“Finger sandwiches, warm scones served with clotted cream and homemade strawberry preserve accompanied by a selection of dainty French pastries.” – Stapleford Park
During a recent sleepover weekend at the magnificent Stapleford Park for Lloyd’s birthday, it would have been incredibly rude of me to not treat us to a celebratory afternoon tea, seeing as one was merrily on offer. Please do stay tuned for my Stapleford Weekend post with more on our stay, later this week!
Stapleford are among those who know the true meaning of afternoon tea finery, and with traditional indulgencies, we were whisked off to another delightful experience of the perfect sandwiches, sweets, and warming brews.
"Afternoon tea is served with a pot of tea or you can choose from a selection of traditional teas, fruit and herbal infusions, or filtered coffee."

Before we even progress to food, I must recommend the tea that I personally chose as part of the whole delicious experience! For a £3.00 supplement fee, you have the option of having a pot of "Flowering Blueberry Tea", which in all honestly, is the most wonderful fruit tea I have ever had the pleasure of sipping. Not only that, but it's utterly beautiful too! If you're not familiar with flowering teas, you basically have a glass teapot, with boiling water which hosts a small flower head bulb, which in around 3 minutes transforms the water into deliciously fruity tea and a work of art.
Food wise, Lloyd and I were huge fans of the ham and mustard finger sandwiches (they were all perfect, if I'm honest), and the scones were delectable. I personally exclaimed at how incredibly tasty the jam was. It actually made me squeal a little! So flavourful and pleasantly tangy!
Deserves a favourites section all of its own, of course. We honestly struggled quite a bit to pop the cakes in any kind of "favourites order", just because they were tasty enough to engulf immediately, however one of my favourites to mention was the Saffron & Passion Fruit Mousse which was so light and creamy that I actually devoured two quite quickly!
The White Chocolate, Raspberry, & Beetroot cake was a combined favourite of mine and Lloyd's, with the Almond Choux Bun coming a close second favourite.
The remainder were just perfectly made classics, which again, didn't last a hot minute.
Anything you do especially enjoy can be mentioned to the wonderful, WONDERFUL table staff, who will bring you another little taster of it out, if you should so wish.
If you’re local to Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, or even if you’re not (the journey from Cambridge for us was well worth the visit, even if we were just popping in for lunch and not staying the weekend!), I highly recommend taking time out to visit Stapleford to stay a while, and treat yourself to this divine deliciousness, and definition of tradition in the form of Afternoon Tea.
The table service and all waiting staff are spectacular, the setting is so inviting and comfortable (felt like royalty for sure), and the quality of the food and beverages themselves was truly scrumptious to us.
If there were not more delicious foods to try at Stapleford, I would have gone for one every day spent there!
What would your favourite picks be from the menu? Let me know!
