During a weekend just passed, Lloyd and I had some friends visit us for a bit of tea, cake, and a show around. It was really super to see them, and they were ultra generous enough to have brought us a really fabulous gift, which has been so dear to me at this time of year, that I just had to feature it in a post!
Why's it dear to me? Well, it's candles! CANDLES!

The classic Parisian macaron-sweet as can be and lighter than air, with notes of vanilla, almond and, of course, sugar.
I was quite taken aback by just how many of these I immediately raved about on first smell! I mean, obviously I know what to expect from Yankee Candle scents, right? They're always phenomenally potent, nostalgia inducing, and high quality enough to keep bringing us back, but occasionally I've thought that they don't always bring out anything especially new with their UK holiday releases.
This year, however, we have 'Spiced White Cocoa', 'Mulberry & Fig Delight', and 'The Perfect Tree', staring me in the face!
Forgive me if these are not now as new as I am stating, however it does say "New!" all over the packaging, and these are most definitely new to me now, anyway.
Out of the three "newbies", I'm desperately loving 'Spiced White Cocoa' , which literally smells like a hot, milky, creamy, chocolate drink, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and deliciousness! It's not overly sweet, either, and you really do get that sense of warmth in your nose from the scent.
'The Perfect Tree' is the perfect contrasting scene to 'Spiced White Cocoa, with it's pine/balsam/crisp outdoors feels. This one will sit perfectly in the lounge once the Christmas tree is up (YES, I'M THINKING ABOUT IT ALREADY), whilst 'Spiced White Cocoa' will be enjoyed either in the kitchen, or the dining room. Probably the dining room, as it can travel through the centre hallway and mix with 'The Perfect Tree' a little if they're both burning.
Other more classic scents in the box which I've enjoyed over the years and am happy to see now, are 'Home Sweet Home' (classic Christmas combo of spices, baked treats, and tea!!), 'Cinnamon Stick' (cinnamon and cloves...what's not to love throughout winter?!), and 'Macaron Treats' (Food. More food smells! Give me all the cake, bakery, and deliciously decadent, please!).
So there we have it! Another gorgeous gift idea for a friend or family member who loves a festive smelling home at this time of year! The display box is also wonderful to keep too.
RRP is around £12.99 per set, and can be purchased from Yankee Candle here [LINK TO BUY].
