[Brought to you with generously gifted goodies and the odd affiliate link <3]
Let's step aside from beauty topics and gift guides for a moment as I strip things back and get ultra cosy-chic for you, repping the queen/king of baby pink realness in womens hoodies (it's Nicce right? Get it!?) right now, along with messy bun goodness and a relaxing cup of Whittard's Dreamtime (yes I like to milk it up), for a styled update on what's been happening with my life choices this last month.
I've spent weeks watching other content creators clamor for their next promotion, shovel out post links, and throw up Insta images in that tea stained filter all seem to know and love like frantic mayflies all going at their last moments of notice, whilst I've been sat here slowly decreasing in blog posts per week, sporadically posting on Instagram "as and when", and throwing my heart and soul into the new love of my life that is Twitch.
I'm going to be SUPER HONEST with you right now, as I should have done at least a week ago if I'm honest, and say that the last four months of building a community on the perfectly purple home of live streaming has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my "online life" so far as a creator, and it's dragging me lovingly into its clutches more and more by the evening.
My viewers will sit with me and get as enthusiastically invested as I do with everything! From featuring old games to new games, and even now introducing DIY crafting streams and live unboxings, the immediate interaction with an audience of like minded people all there to spend time with you and allow you to enjoy their company in return with the fun is such a perfect feeling for me, and the most rewarding form of engagement I can even begin to tell you about.
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the engagement you get from Instagram and Twitter, it's completely different in many ways, but I'm not always too keen on seeing the scramble and competition, as well as the pulsing negativity that can come with dropping a single comment or stash of imagery.
Alright so you're here for a confession, and here you've got it. I've taken plenty of time to think this through, and after four years of calling myself a "blogger", I'm throwing in my "B Badge" and making Twitch my main babe. It's official. Streamer first, complimented by lifestyle content in between to keep the party going.
- And do you know what? I absolutely am very open to working with brands and niche orientated companies who might like my style, enjoy my streams, and dig my photography, but I'll leave the ball in their court as to whether I'm a good fit for them. I'm going 100% organic on being "searchable" in regards to my content, meaning the time I would usually take to send out pitches to brands and so on can be filtered entirely into my next big stream project, and my blossoming Twitch community.
HAVE YOU EVER STEPPED OUTSIDE YOUR "KNOWN ZONE" TO BE GREETED WITH SOMETHING YOU SUDDENLY FIND YOU SHINE FOR?
