Where do I start? Other than with squees of over-excitement...
You may or may not know that this year I was invited to become an ambassador for Origins Skincare, representing one of their flagship stores in Cambridge. You can catch up on the back story of how that came to be in an overview post [here].
As part of my role as a brand ambassador, I have been assigned the exciting task of hosting several themed events across my year of engagement in store, and what better opportunity than this to get my gorgeous blogger friends together so that they can be pampered with Origins goodness, learn more about the brand itself, whilst enjoying champagne and treats galore? Just what they deserve!
"We harnessed the power of plants to create high performance skincare. And in the process revolutionized the beauty business with our return to Nature and commitment to the environment. We created the first cosmetic container recycling program in the industry. And have worked with organizations like Global ReLeaf to plant trees around the world. Origins products are always formulated with the best of Nature, sourced from sustainable regions."
So with Christmas so close by, and this event being a celebration of my first, I decided to name it the "Origins Glow Gala", where guests can come along, grab some bubbly, and be intensely pampered with massages, face masks, hand and arm massages, and finish things off with expertly applied makeup by very special guests at Smashbox Cosmetics.
"We love sharing our makeup secrets with you. Why? Because we are a beauty brand born out of a real photo studio—the legendary Smashbox Studios in L.A.—and creating gorgeous looks is what we do here. It’s all about being your most kickass beautiful self at Smashbox."
Not only was I thrilled to have Smashbox along, but the beautiful Albertine, Commissioning Editor of Blogosphere Magazine came all the way over from London HQ to join in the fun too! You can check out her blog too, [here].
Without my utterly wonderful husband, Lloyd, we couldn't have captured the evening more perfectly. Whilst I enjoyed everyone's company, took lots of snaps, and played around tirelessly with Instagram "Boomerangs", he filmed such gorgeous footage, and created this wonderful snapshot of memories for me. Doesn't everyone look so wonderful? I feel so lucky to have been surrounded by such incredible guests!!
Everyone in attendance had a passion for content creation in some form or another. Some focused solely on social media sharing, like on Instagram and Twitter, whilst other's primary platforms were their websites and blogs.
Excitingly, Albertine has recently (but not all THAT recently) started a vlog channel, which may be featuring some snapshots of this event in her weekly videos very soon!
I'd love the next step of mine to be more of an involved vlogger, but honestly, as this is something I do alongside my career (which is totally different), I just don't know how I'd begin to squeeze it in, and I seriously don't want to but my writing at risk of lowering in volume and quantity to make way for regular videos JUST yet. I'll stick to my Instagram Story obsession.
In addition to the wonderful treatments on offer, there were goodie bags for every guest to take home with them too. Origins made up gorgeous sets of their Ginger hand lotion and body wash -
Smashbox also popped together a gorgeous selection of samples too, including their famous photo finish primer, shadow trio, "Be Legendary" lipstick, and more -
Shame on you if you feel this is a huge cliche, but honestly, this event couldn't have been possible without the passion, commitment, dedication, and supreme involvement of my perfect (in every way) guests for the evening. Ever single one of you deserve a shout out for venturing out on minus degree temperatures to join in the wonderment, and a shout out you shall have. Please, do show these wonderful ladies some love:
